PASSPORT TO IT CAREERS 2017: Friday, April 28, 2017 PROGRAM PDF
The Passport to IT Careers is RITE’s premier annual event. At the Passport hundreds of students from regional public and private school and over a hundred employers, IT professionals and educators come together to meet and engage in an exciting, high-energy IT conference designed drive talent along the talent pipeline. This year we are planning to invite up to 1,000 attendees and hold the event at the Global Center for Health Affairs.

In partnership with WKYC TV, Digital and Social Media Marketing Solutions; and concurrent with OHTec’s Tech Week 2017, three companies will be featured in a two-week multi-media marketing campaign intent on driving awareness of the IT employment needs in the region. And, those same companies will receive premier visibility at the Passport to IT Careers event.
SUMMER CODING CAMPS – June – August 2017 PROGRAM PDF
In 2o17 RITE and its partner TECH CORPS are planning to offer 12 camps – up from 7 in 2016! There will be three levels, IT On-Ramp, C# and Cyber Security. These are one or two all-day intensive camps held at local colleges or universities where students are immersed in IT skill development and soft skill activities.
COOLTECH CHALLENGE SCHOLARSHIPS: Jan – April 2017 PROGRAM PDF
The CoolTech Challenge invites student teams to develop or write up a concept for a websites, software or mobile app. This year RITE is taking leadership in this OHTec-created program. With OHTec, we are looking to expand the reach and engagement in the program. The other exciting addition is student contestants will all be invited to showcase their projects at the Annual Passport to IT Careers event in April. Last year there were over 90 submissions.
UP CLOSE IN IT SPONSORSHIP: February 17 & 24, 2017 PROGRAM PDF
In its third year, this program is an immersive experience for students in Lorain to engage with professionals across a range of local and regional companies. UP Close in IT is a partnership with Lorain County Community College and the RITE LCCC Council. With underwriting by Nordson Corporation its goal is to engage, inform and attract the future IT talent in Lorain County. This year we are nearly doubling our engagement from 110 students in 2016 to 200 students in 2017.
